Happy Easter and Passover: Pep Talk for Rash Sufferers

I want to wish everyone a Happy Easter celebration as well as Passover. Also, it is a good time to gain perspective for people with chronic rash problem as it can be discouraging to deal with a skin condition that doesn’t seem to improve. First of all, most rashes are not life threatening. That is a good thing! Of course, itching, pain, redness and self-consciousness of one’s eruptions and patches can still really qualify one’s life.

Still, it’s important to have a sense of gratitude about one’s life. The skin is our surface and it isn’t our core. While you work on various ways to stop the annoying itchy skin rash , remember that you are not your appearance. Having a rash skin condition can make you realize a lot about your values and also helps you to become more compassionate about others. You’ll notice that you are less judgemental and more compassionate towards those with health problems now. This makes you a more sensitive person. Of course, having sensitive skin can be what has caused the rash to begin with, but sensitivity about life is a very good quality.

You’ll aslo often take a journey when you have a skin condition to investigate your diet and habits. This can have wonderful ramifications for your future health and is a good thing to do. Cutting out sugars and fatty foods to replace them with more grains, fruits and vegetables are wonderful for yourself and your family.

If it is your child that has the rash, this can create a lot of heartache. There are many days where you wish it was you rather than them. But, you can cheer them up, teach them about focusing on their inner qualities and show them increased love, kindness and wisdom. Some people say without adversity we’d never grow. Don’t spend hours looking at hot tub rash pictures or pictures of scabies because often images on the net are the most severe cases. Also, if you don’t have a diagnosis yet, you don’t want to alarm yourself by looking at pictures that may not be your condition. A number of people have emailed me saying they were freaked out that they had hiv rash signs when in fact it was an allergic reaction or another source.

Continue to know you will find a solution that works for you for your skin rash condition. If you notice that during a vacation your skin clears up, that is something to study further. How can you bring that level of relaxation into your daily life? Taking a yoga or exercise class is a way to calm the mind. Remember, we are more than what is skin deep and this situation has changed you and made you more aware.

  1. My daughter was pretty upset on Easter with the rash on her elbows and upper arm but I told her to think about how lucky we are to live in a beautiful state with great friends. She is very appearance focused as a teenager but she did hear what I said so thanks for the idea.

  2. I used to get rashes during allergy season when I was a kid but it cleared up in my mid-twenties so have hope if you are an allergy rash sufferer.

  3. My aunt had a terrible rash on memorial day and now she is bummed out because for the family july 4th picnic it looks like she still has a rash (but it’s better). I know it’s not contagious but it’s still hard to get close to her. I guess that’s a type of predjudice but I can’t help it. It’s like an instictive fear.
