Well, I just had a 3rd biopsy of my rash analyzed today. It’s been over 3 months. The first time I saw a doctor he said it could be scabies and gave me the scabies cream. It did seem a little better for a few days but then my arms broke out badly.

The next doctor was a dermatologist and he took a biops and it came back as spongiotic dermatitis- allergic . The analysis was that since it was near my belly button it could be nickel or a metal , fabric, laundry detergent etc. I was using cortisone creams.

I saw another dermatologist after getting lots of circular eruptions on my legs and trunk 2 weeks later. He said it was erythema multiforme minor and that was due to herpes hsv virus. I do get a cold sore on my lip and had it around time of the rash initially. I continued with the cortisone cream.

The symptoms continued so I saw a dermatologist a week after that who was recommended by a friend. He told me it was definitely nummular eczema and gave me a different cortisone cream plus told me to use aquaphor. Two days later everything practically cleared up . I was very excited. But nine days after that, I did get another burst of papules on my hips and back. ARRGGH.  I did read that nummular eczema can be chronic, recurrent and difficult to cure.

Then I saw a dermatologist I had seen a few years back for another problem and he said he thinks it’s a fungus/yeast infection. However, I just had my appt this morning and the biopsy said it wasn’t that but a hypersensitivity reaction. His analysis was that it is probably a food allergy! Okay I am feeling stuck though it does seem to be smaller and smaller eruptions each time. Still I am not at the bottom of it. Rashes are VERY hard to diagnose it seems.
