How to Stop Itchy Skin: Common Rash Complaints

Your skin can be itchy due to a rash like poison ivy, atopic eczema, pupps, chicken pox, scabies, contact dermatitis or from red ant bites. Stopping the itching and scratching cycle is important to prevent infection so how to stop itchy skin problems is a tool to heal your skin and prevent further bumps, blisters or complications.

First of all, it helps tremendously to have a diagnosis. For one thing, you want to know if your rash is contagious. The scabies rash, chicken pox, and oil from poison ivy can all be spread to others. On the other hand, eczema, nickel contact dermatitis and pupps pregnancy rashes are not communicate to others. In addition, it is easier to treat a rash when it is diagnosed as certain rashes such as a drug reaction rash to amoxicillin would necessitate stopping the antibiotic. If you are thinking your rash is due to a new detergent when it is really a drug reaction rash you won’t be stopping the cause of the eruptions and inflammation. However, you don’t want to moisturize tinea versicolor or a fungus rash that may thrive on moisture. Yeast rashes get worse with moisture which is why they recommend changing out of one’s swimsuit or work out clothing after it is damp so you don’t spread the rash.

Some rashes that benefit from calamine lotion which contain alamine and zinc oxide include poison ivy, sumac, chicken pox, red ant bites and prickly heat. Also a few people mentioned that they found calmine lotion helped their acne. Drying out weepy rashes that are characteristic of poison ivy and red ant bites will reduce inflammation.

Antihistamines such as benadryl or claritin help with the itching of many kinds of itchy rashes. Be sure to not using the drowsy formulas during the day. You will feel like a zombie if you do this. Oatmeal baths are excellent for many types of rashes and reduce the inflammation. Psychologically , we itchy more when we are stressed out. This can be frustrating as often you can get into a panic if you see a new red bump or cluster of red welts on your body. Try to do relaxation exercises, write everything down to show your doctor and keep track of what lotions, creams and oils you are using. You can also write down a food diary in case there is an allergic reaction. Really go through your previous week to see if anything was different with environmental products, dining or new personal care items to pinpoint the underlying culprits. Think about the social contact and if you’ve picked anything up via school, work or other gatherings. It can be frustrating to deal with itchying skin and you can feel helpless.   1. i have been struggling with my skin before i even got married 3 years ago . First i had fungai infections located in my palms ,these got cured later itching in legs stated leading to scratch so much help me please
